Ce monument commmore la victoire dcisive de 1813 des nations allies (Autriche, Prusse, Russie et Sude) contre les troupes napoloniennes. Ce monument est le dernier bastion pris par les Allis Leipzig le 20 avril aprs un intense pilonnage et la capitulation de la garnison allemande qui s'y tait replie. The world's first transistor was invented in 1947 by US scientists William Shockley, John Bardeen and Walter Brattain, members of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, and was successfully tested 24 December 1947.
