Striated caracara

Striated caracara. Head of a striated caracara (Phalcoboenus australis). This bird is found in the Falkland Islands, neighbouring islands and part of Chile. It inhabits grassland and coastal regions. This bird, which can grow up to 60 centimetres in length, is a scavenger, mostly feeding on carrion, but also preying on small invertebrates
