Chung Ling Soo (real name William Robinson). The other side of the previously shown circular flyer showing a portrait of Soo in the centre of a Willow Pattern Plate. The design appears as the central image of a poster reproduced as Lot 1156 in the Catalogue of Part III of the J. B. Findlay Collection of conjuring material (1980), which reproduces 37 Chung Ling Soo posters, none of which are in Will Dexter's, The Riddle of Chung Ling Soo (1955). At the Islington Empire Theatre in London, 17th August 1914, part one of Chungs performance was The Willow Pattern Plate. Date: 1910

The Devils Disciple by George Bernard Shaw. It was first produced at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in New York, on 4th October 1897, then in England at the Princess of Wales Theatre, Kennington on 26th September 1899 and at the Savoy Theatre on 14th October 1907, from where it transferred to the Queens Theatre. This flyer is for the Shaw season running concurrently at the Savoy Theatre and the Queens Theatre in Shaftebury Avenue, London. Dick Dudgeon, threatened with hanging by British soldiers, looks up at the noose. Date: 1907

Clothes and the Woman by George Paston. The reverse of a four page flyer which also includes the production of Me and My Diary by Gertrude Jennings. Robert Courtneidge presents Iris Hoey and Company in both 'Clothes and The Woman' and 'Me and My Diary'. Iris Hoey in both plays at each performance. Iris Hoey (17 July 1885 13 May 1979) took many lead roles in musical comedies like Princess Caprice, Oh! Oh! Delphine and The Pearl Girl, but by this time was concentrating on straight theatre. Advertising six nights at the Theatre Royal In Nottingham from 15th May 1922. Both performances were for charity. The photo we see of Iris Hoey was by Reville Ltd, London, W. The flyer was printed by David Allen and Son Ltd, Belfast and London. Date: 1922
