Lobster. Coloured X-ray of a common lobster (Homarus gammarus). This is a marine scavenger that inhabits the cool waters of the north-eastern Atlantic Ocean. It is valued for its flesh. Like all crustaceans, it has a hard exoskeleton. Its muscles (some seen in the legs) are attached to the inner walls of this exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is inflexible, and is cast off and regrown as the lobster grows

Sponge decorator crab (Hyastenus elatus), an extremely well camouflaged crab, member of the spider crab family, common in Sydney Harbour. Has a pear-shaped carapace with two long rostral projections, nearly as long as the body, and two shorter projections from the rear sides. It is nearly always heavily encrusted with sponge and other sessile animals. Nelson Bay, Port Stephens, New South Wales, Australia
