Central Asia including Japan antique map 19th century 1843

This is an original steel engraving with original colour, an antique map of Central Asia (including Japan, northern China, Mongolia and Korea). It was produced in 1843, a time when Japan was isolated and before traditional ways were overtaken by industrialisation. The map was drawn and engraved by J. Archer for Gilbert's Modern Atlas, published c.1843
