Ribeira, viewpoint of convento da Serra do Pilar em Vila Nova de Gaia

The most recognizable and charming panoramic view of Porto is that seen from Vila Nova de Gaia, from any of the several cellars and terraces. It is on this side of the Douro that one gets the best view of the city, with all its beauties uncovered. It is precisely in the viewpoint of the convent of the Serra do Pilar, at a considerable height, that the landscape is dominated by the splendid iron bridge, the D. Luis I bridge, symbol of the city and the old city of Porto, with its cathedral and Tower of Clerics cut out the sky.
The Ribeira is one of the oldest and typical places of the city of Porto, Portugal.
Next to the Douro River, it is part of the Historic Center of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is, at the moment, an area very frequented by tourists and place of concentration of bars and restaurants
