Bonzo palms the pill by George Studdy
Bonzo palms the pill -- he is given a pill, but only pretends to take it. George Ernest Studdy (1878-1948), was the creator of 'Bonzo', a small dog with saucer-like eyes and indiscriminate breeding who first appeared in the Sketch in 1922. The 'Bonzo' craze swept the world resulting in postcards, annuals, toys and other merchandise. Credit should read: Estate of George Studdy/Gresham Marketing Ltd./ILN/Mary Evans

World land cover, global map
World land cover, global map. This cylindrical map projection of the Earth shows magnified examples of the terrain and land cover. These include conifer trees symbolising northern forests, tropical trees for rainforests and desert palms, large mountains for the world's major mountain ranges, and wide, branching waterways for the world's major rivers. Colour indicates terrain, with deserts, ice fields, alpine mountains, and forests and grasslands shown in their natural colours. The map overlaps slightly at the eastern and western edges to ensure that all areas are shown in their full geographical context.
