A large memorail bronze relief of Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) by Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the west wall of the Moray Aisle (1904) in St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland. Stevenson is shown on the relief on a couch (or day bed), where he was often confined due to poor health. In 1890 he settled in Samoa, where he died four years later. Date: circa 1904

Taro Plantation - Samoa - Pacific Ocean. Taro is a root vegetable native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. Taro features in traditional desserts such as Samoan "fa'ausi", which consists of grated, cooked taro mixed with coconut milk and brown sugar. The leaves are also used as edible wrappings for other foods. Date: circa 1910s
